He strikes again. Another melt my heart moment by Halen.
As we were visiting My mom the other day, my mom was telling me about dropping Halen off somewhere. Halen was crying and not wanting her to leave. My mom says to me Halen broke my heart. Halen stopped what he was doing and said to nanny seriously "no nanny I didn't break your heart" and ran around the corner and looked up on the cabinet and pointed "see nanny your heart not broken". He was pointing to a heart shaped valentine card of nanny's he had made her "no nanny it's not" he said. I swear my heart turned to mush at that moment. Things are so simple in a 2 year olds mind. If only things could always continue to be that way.

NO POOPING IN THE BATHTUB!!
Halen and Kai were having a bath together the other night. It was just like every other nIght in the bath to start. As Halen and Kai were playing I suddenly noticed Kai had stopped playing and was sitting there grunting. "oh no" I said allowed "I think that Kai is going to poop". Halen looks at me in this terrified face "no pooping in the bath tub!" he starts yelling. Halen and I have had this discussion in the past that we don't poop in the tub. I think that he has forgotten that he has done this in the past. So anyway I froze for a moment I wasn't sure what to do. I thought I don't have a diaper in the bathroom and i didn't want to lease them alone in the tub. Then finally my common sense kicked in that I could just put Kai over the toilet. Unfortunately I was too late, as I picked up Kai the poop fell and landed in the tub right in front of Halen. Halen was sceaming in disgust (I don't blame him) "No poop in the bathtub" and then "mommy get it out!". I couldn't help but laugh. Halen didn't appreciate that, but what else can you do. I pulled the plug in the tub and let the water drain out and was left with the poop. Gross! Thinking about that night makes me laugh just thinking about Halen sceaming. Yeah sure it was disgusting, it was an experience I never could have dreamed up. Just another day of being a parent I suppose.
I have polish too!
I don't think that there is a day that goes by that I do not have at least one laugh. I had no idea kids would be such a blast!
Last Sunday I had a small dot of red nail polish on my thumb nail(left over from work). Halen noticed it right away, what's that mommy? Oh just a bit of nail polish I told him. Then of course the next question that every two year old asks "why?". I then went on to explain To him that mommy is an esthetician and paints peoples nails. He was good with that. The next day he asked me again and I reminded him that is was nail polish. After that he seemed to remember and continued to point it out constantly. Finally on Wednesday while I was making dinner Halen and Kai were playing peacefully together. Next thing I know Halen comes over to me and says "mommy I have polish too!". He was so excited. Because I was in the middle of chopping some vegetables I didn't look down and said "oh yeah" very excitedly. He didn't by it, "no mommy look!". So I look down and his whole thumb is covered in bright red blood! I almost freaked out, then caught myself just in time. He wasn't hurt, but oh man was he ever excited to be just like mommy.

Let's see how this goes
So this is my first entry. Why am I writing a blog? Not quite sure. Thought it would be fun. But what do I write about? I'm not really a great writer. Does anyone care what I have to say? Does it really matter? Where do I start? Well lets see how it goes...
I guess I will start with why the title of my blog is called "Where is Moony?"
My first son Halen has slowly started to become fascinated with the moon. I'm not really sure where this came from, he is 21/2 years old. Although I do recall this past summer while at the cottage Grandpa showing Halen the moon. It is the perfect place for star gazing(or moon gazing in Halen's case). Every night before Halen would go to bed he would ask Grandpa "where is the moony?" They would look out the window for the moon. Some nights they would have to go outside to locate it. From there it slowly progressed. I would say to him "do you know who goes to the moon?" He would look at me with a blank stare. "Astronauts" i would tell him. It didn't take him long to learn that one. Then one day I asked him "What do you need to go to the moon?" Expecting him to say a spaceship which to me would be the obvious answer, so therefor I shouldn't have expected that. No he says "A helmet!" Of course, why didn't I think of that?
During the day Halen sometimes asks where the moony is. I tell him that it is sleeping, and that it only comes out at night. I guess this is not intirely true, but it is too complicated to explain, which means I will be questioned on my teachings at some point. One day we were driving along in the car and Halen starts yelling "the moony mommy, the moony". I simply say "oh no Halen the moon is sleeping, it is day time. The moon only comes out at night, right?" Halen alittle frustrated with me says "I see the moony". I look up at the sky and there it is. The moony up in the sky as clear and clear can be. Mommy has been proven wrong once again.
Halen also so has this book that is all about space. It is meant for much older children, but it is his favorite book. It talks all about the planets and stars etc. but all he cares about is the pictures of the astronaut's and the spaceship. He will bring the book over to me and say "read it mommy, read it" so i go to start to read it but he just stops me and says "arnots mommy?" So we turn to the page with the astronauts and we look at them sleeping, eating, walking on the moon and riding stationary bikes. I swear he is as happy as can be just looking at those pictures. Some nights I like to keep him up past his bed time just so he can look at the moon. Other nights when getting home late I'll look up at the crystal clear sky and think how much Halen would enjoy looking at the moon right now. It always brings a smile to my face. His fascination is still going strong, so it didn't take him long to decide that he will be dressing up as an astronaut for Halloween. We found the perfect costume and his dad found him the perfect helmet to go along with it. Papa brought home a small little telescope one day, and Halen was in heaven. He pulls it out and looks out the window, he says he can see arnots. A childs imagination is priceless.
So I guess this is it. I wanted to start writing a blog to share the little moments in life that make it all worth wile.
